The Tale of the London Bridge Ren Faire

The London Bridge Renaissance Faire began in 2015 as the vision of an ASU Havasu Project Management class. The concept seemed a perfect fit for the community best known as “Home of the London Bridge”. Through collaborative efforts with the Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce, GoLakeHavasu, and partner London Bridge Lions Club, the London Bridge Renaissance Faire officially began in 2016.The first year found great success with around 5,000 community members in attendance. Proceeds of the event funded 6 ASU Havasu Scholarships and a fund to continue the royal festivities the following year. The partnership continued in 2017 with the event being then held in January. As another successful year, 7 more ASU Havasu scholarships were raised.

In 2018, many new and exciting changes came to the Faire. The winter weather proved unpredictable so the event found its new home among the warmer Spring air. The greatest change was the new home of the Faire where it continues to reign merrily at the SARA Park Rodeo Grounds. Most of all, the Faire was celebrated under a new kingdom, Havashire Festivals, Inc. A deepest thank you from the kingdom’s own Mary Queen of Scots to the London Bridge Lions and all beginning partners of the event.

Now officially under Havashire Festivals, Inc. The London Bridge Renaissance Faire continues its commitment to supporting local education. All proceeds of the event benefit Lake Havasu City students. As of 2021, The London Bridge Renaissance Faire has awarded over $15,000 in scholarships. This past Fall, LBRF partnered with Romer Beverages to supply local educators with school supplies. Over 50 educators in the area received supplies.

Though the kingdom reigns true in Lake Havasu City, there was a fair kingdom in the southern region that beckoned to join forces. Now, Havashire Festivals, Inc. has happily expanded their kingdom to include Two Rivers Renaissance Faire of Yuma, AZ. Two Rivers held their faire just this past February and too found great success. With the proceeds of this event, over $6,000 was raised to directly support youth STEM programs of the Yuma area.

As this year’s faire commences, Havashire Festivals Inc. thanks all of you for your continued support. Havashire Festivals Inc is a non-profit 501(c)3 whose goal is to share the love of history and community through reenactment and related activities of 16th-century events. This includes but is not limited to sponsoring the annual London Bridge Renaissance Faire. All proceeds from the event are given to provide scholarships and educational funding such as scholarships, teacher support, and related items in the support of education.
